The Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis position at Cohere is a senior-level individual contributor role located in San Francisco with remote flexibility. This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced finance professional who wants to partner directly with engineering leaders and executive teams to guide financial strategy in a leading enterprise AI environment.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain comprehensive departmental forecasting processes alongside regular versus actuals analysis.
Build scalable financial models and planning frameworks designed to support rapid business expansion.
Collaborate closely with department heads to translate business requirements into specific financial needs.
Conduct detailed variance analysis and deliver actionable insights concerning financial performance to executive leadership.
Develop and maintain executive-level financial reporting dashboards and manage monthly and quarterly business review cycles.
Drive workflow automation and continuous process improvements within financial planning functions.
Partner with cross-functional teams on key strategic initiatives and execute annual and multi-year long-range planning processes.
Bridge the gap between high-level company vision and granular departmental execution while acting as an embedded finance partner for engineering teams.
Define, track, and socialize critical SaaS and technology metrics to foster data-driven decision-making.
Prepare high-impact materials intended for board meetings and other C-suite forums.
Requirements
Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience working in Financial Planning & Analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Strong, demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
Direct working experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, alongside business intelligence tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Excellent analytical capabilities with the proven ability to interpret complex financial data and tell compelling stories through numbers.
Prior experience building and scaling FP&A functions within ambiguous, high-growth environments.
Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and the interrelations between the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement.
Nice to Have
Possession of an MBA or CFA designation.
Experience operating within fast-moving technology companies, specifically collaborating with engineering business partners.
Startup background focusing on scaling operational finance.
Familiarity with SaaS metrics, artificial intelligence business models, fundraising, investor relations, and board reporting.
Experience implementing financial automation solutions and systems.

Salary and Benefits
Annual salary range of $170,000 to $320,000 USD.
Weekly lunch stipend of $75 or equivalent local currency.
