Role Overview

Cloudflare is looking for a Senior Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering to lead a high-performing team of technical experts and Solution Architects. In this capacity, the manager acts as a strategic partner to sales leadership, guiding technical sales strategies to expand developer revenue and supporting complex customer opportunities. This role serves as the crucial connection between field operations and internal product teams, ensuring that user insights directly drive future product enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Build and execute long-term technical sales strategies alongside regional and country sales leaders to expand the pipeline and revenue for the Cloudflare Developer Platform.
Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of Solution Architects who serve as trusted technical advisors and regional leads.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership, Product Management, and Product Marketing to align objectives and deliver compelling value propositions.
Oversee annual budgets and make critical resource allocation choices to keep the team properly staffed for business goals.
Guide team members in aligning technical and business value directly with C-level executives at major customer accounts.
Maintain a robust feedback loop from the field to internal teams to refine the product roadmap based on actual usage and competitive intelligence.

Requirements

Bring 7+ years of professional background in technical sales covering cloud computing, storage, or full-stack engineering.
Proven track record of leading technical teams and driving complex sales strategies.
Comprehensive technical knowledge spanning modern Web Technologies, Cloud Architecture, AI/ML, and Distributed Serverless Platforms.
Demonstrated capability to mentor teams on Systems Design theory and practice for distributed, full-stack applications.
Strong history of cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, and Sales departments.
Submission of a resume or CV highlighting team leadership and technical architecture experience.

Nice to Have

Practical building experience using Cloudflare Workers.
Current certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or GCP Cloud Architect.
Strong grasp of CI/CD practices, versioning, and system integrations.

Salary and Benefits

Bay Area based hires receive an estimated annual salary of $244,000.00 to $310,000.00 OTE.
New York based hires receive an estimated annual salary of $234,000.00 to $295,000.00 OTE.
