About this role

Role Overview

Scale AI is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the Applications Platform Engineering department in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. This position suits an experienced software professional ready to lead the technical development of paved road infrastructure for knowledge retrieval and inference engines.

Key Responsibilities

Architect multi-cloud systems and abstractions allowing the platform to operate across major cloud providers.
Define architectural patterns for multi-cloud infrastructure to support secure, reliable, and scalable Agentic workflows.
Enhance infrastructure efficiency, reliability, accuracy, and response times across CI/CD processes and test frameworks.
Design and champion scalable, reliable, and low-latency infrastructure for building, orchestrating, and evaluating multi-agent systems.
Lead the infrastructure roadmap focusing on compliance, privacy, security standards, change management, and data isolation strategies.
Own the development and maintenance of the Agentic observability platform encompassing logging, metrics, tracing, and analytics.
Drive developer efficiency by building automated tooling and championing Infrastructure-as-Code paradigms.

Requirements

Possess a minimum of 5 years of full-time software engineering experience in a senior capacity.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of modern infrastructure practices including CI/CD, IaC, container orchestration, and observability platforms.
Bring extensive hands-on experience working with at least one major cloud provider.
Exhibit strong knowledge of security and compliance in enterprise environments, focusing on access management and data isolation.
Show proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience and familiarity working with Agents, Large Language Models, vector databases, and emerging artificial intelligence technologies.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary range for San Francisco and New York is $216,200 to $270,250 USD, determined during the interview process based on location, experience, and qualifications.
Eligible roles are granted equity-based compensation subject to Board of Director approval.
