Role Overview

In this position, engineers contribute to the development of North, Cohere's innovative AI workspace platform. The role involves creating features that allow enterprises to utilize AI securely while maintaining data control. Team members collaborate closely with researchers to transform state-of-the-art models and techniques into production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Build and deliver features for the North AI workspace platform.
Develop autonomous agents designed to interact with sensitive enterprise data.
Write minimal code optimized for low-resource environments featuring strict deployment mechanisms.
Reinvent tooling and build custom solutions when security and privacy constraints prevent standard library usage.
Work alongside researchers to productionize advanced AI models and methods.

Requirements

Extensive experience shipping full-stack production code utilizing Python and React.
Ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced settings with shifting priorities and objectives.
Professional background that includes experience in both startups and large enterprises.
Strong coding capabilities with comfort working across the entire technology stack.
Capability to read, understand, and fix issues outside of the core codebase.
Track record of building and deploying high-performance client-side or server-side RAG and agentic applications to large user bases.
