Role Overview

Gong is seeking a Senior Cyber Defense Engineer to join the Corporate Security Engineering team in Tel Aviv. This hands-on position focuses on designing, implementing, and scaling security controls to protect the endpoints, identities, SaaS platforms, and collaboration tools used by a global workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Own and scale corporate security engineering roadmaps covering endpoint, identity, SaaS, email, collaboration, zero-trust access, and data protection.
Manage endpoint security across a global fleet of macOS, Windows, and Linux devices, ensuring EDR coverage, hardening baselines, and containment readiness.
Implement identity and access security initiatives including single sign-on, phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication, passwordless adoption, privileged access management, and conditional access.
Secure business platforms and communication channels such as email, Slack, and Drive.
Manage SaaS security posture, discover shadow SaaS, and govern third-party OAuth integrations.
Establish zero-trust and corporate network security initiatives for distributed employees.
Develop data protection and insider-risk capabilities across endpoints, email, browsers, and SaaS channels.
Oversee corporate vulnerability and baseline management in partnership with IT.
Build security guardrails and enablement frameworks for employee adoption of AI tools.
Create scalable automation, workflows, and integrations to enhance the overall security program.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in security data pipeline engineering, detection engineering, SIEM engineering, threat hunting, or security platform engineering.
Hands-on proficiency with EDR/XDR platforms such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender.
Experience working with Cloud Security Posture Management tools including Wiz, Prisma Cloud, or Orca, and WAF solutions like Cloudflare or Akamai.
Proven ability to deploy and maintain Zero Trust security platforms and controls.
Experience building data ingestion pipelines using CI/CD methodologies.
Capability to build, test, and tune custom detection logic utilizing query languages such as SQL, KQL, or SPL.
Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK attack framework and corresponding mitigation strategies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have

Prior experience securing enterprise AI tool usage, including data-flow restrictions, sanctioned-tool frameworks, OAuth governance, and telemetry hooks.
Background working in a high-growth, global SaaS company supporting a distributed workforce.
In-depth knowledge of identity-first security architectures and zero-trust access models.
Experience developing KPI-driven programs focused on coverage, adoption, SLA performance, and control effectiveness.
Familiarity with adjacent detection and response workflows.
