This Senior Customer Engineer role exists to bridge the technical gap for enterprise accounts in the Southwest region, guiding them from initial pre-sales discovery through deployment and ongoing lifecycle expansion. The team operates within the go-to-market organization to build scalable architectures using advanced networking and AI-augmented workflows.
Working as a quota-carrying technologist, this person will lead technical validations, architect bespoke solutions involving DNS, CDN, and Zero Trust, and leverage AI tools to eliminate administrative overhead. Ideal candidates are builders who reject bureaucracy, possess an AI-native curiosity, and excel at translating intricate technical requirements into measurable business value for C-level executives and engineers alike.
What you will do
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical deep-dive discovery and map complex customer infrastructure to tailored Cloudflare architectures.
- Define success criteria and scope technical evaluation plans for Proof of Concepts and validations.
- Provide oversight for technical onboarding and implementation while serving as the primary engineering contact for enterprise clients.
- Carry a variable quota tied directly to new business acquisition, account growth, and platform retention.
- Utilize AI agents and LLMs to automate routine tasks like RFP responses and sandbox provisioning.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews to demonstrate return on investment for executive stakeholders.
What you need
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Account Management.
- Strong architectural mindset with the ability to design and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
- Excellent consultative and advisory communication skills to bridge technical concepts and business outcomes.
- Proven track record of operating in a commercial, quota-carrying capacity.
