Role Overview

MaintainX seeks a technical leader to guide the architecture of predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and LLM-powered intelligence. The professional in this role will bridge machine learning architecture, IoT data systems, and product development. Responsibilities include defining the roadmap for AI-enabled maintenance intelligence, mentoring developers, and scaling systems across thousands of industrial sites. The person chosen will help transform how frontline teams operate by predicting equipment failures and automating workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the technical path for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and LLM-powered intelligence features within company products.
Build end-to-end machine learning systems covering data ingestion, feature creation, model training, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
Guide a growing team of data and machine learning developers while promoting strong evaluation and experimentation practices.
Collaborate closely with software development and product leaders to match the artificial intelligence roadmap with client needs.
Construct reliable feedback loops that connect operator feedback and telemetry data directly to model retraining processes.
Optimize model performance through scalable inference serving, quantization, and distillation techniques.
Implement reasoning systems and agentic workflows for asset intelligence utilizing large language model frameworks.
Maintain high production standards regarding reliability, latency, security, and explainability for all machine learning infrastructure.

Requirements

Seven or more years of professional background working in applied artificial intelligence, data science, or machine learning.
Proficiency in Python alongside working knowledge of TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud machine learning environments such as AWS.
Demonstrated history of launching and maintaining production-scale machine learning systems rather than relying solely on prototypes.
Solid experience handling time-series modeling, anomaly detection, and large language models using real-world data.
Proven ability to make architectural decisions, provide mentorship, and work smoothly across platform, product, and data teams.
Familiarity with MLOps tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, MLflow, Weights & Biases, or SageMaker.

Nice to Have

Background working with Industrial IoT setups, including sensors, edge computing, and telemetry.
Experience applying time-series modeling specifically for predictive maintenance use cases.
Familiarity with optical character recognition to extract structured data out of documents.
Prior use of reinforcement learning or agentic architectures for automated control and decision-making systems.
Past contributions to open-source machine learning projects or digital twin research.
