Role Overview

Scale AI operates as an artificial intelligence data foundry, supporting frontier model training, enterprise adoption, and autonomous vehicles. As a Senior AI Product Manager, the individual owns a designated portfolio end-to-end, managing strategy, roadmaps, infrastructure, governance, and customer adoption. The role operates within a deeply cross-functional environment, collaborating closely with machine learning research, engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams. Depending on the portfolio focus, such as the Coding domain or the SEAL Leaderboard portfolio, the professional represents Scale AI as a thought leader while working directly with frontier AI labs and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation and design to launch, scaling, maintenance, and sunset decisions.
Define and execute portfolio strategy, prioritizing initiatives across product development, infrastructure investments, and market expansion.
Partner with machine learning researchers and domain experts to build trustworthy evaluation methodologies, task specifications, and grading systems.
Establish governance standards regarding quality, evaluation integrity, contamination prevention, reproducibility, and release management.
Collaborate directly with frontier AI labs and enterprise customers to gather feedback and analyze where models fail.
Track adoption, usage, and business outcomes using data-driven insights to guide future investments and resource allocation.
Align cross-functional stakeholders across product management, engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, technical program management, consulting, or customer-facing technical roles.
Strong technical fluency involving machine learning systems, AI model evaluation, benchmarking, or data products.
Proven track record of building and scaling products that require coordination across engineering, operations, and business organizations.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills with the ability to unify cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical capabilities to translate ambiguous market signals into clear product strategy.
For the Coding role: strong software engineering depth along with familiarity in training and evaluating coding models.

Nice to Have

Experience working alongside AI researchers, machine learning teams, evaluation frameworks, developer tools, or human-in-the-loop data pipelines.
Entrepreneurial background with a history of creating new products, programs, or business initiatives from inception.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary range for this full-time position in New York, San Francisco, and Seattle is $205,600 to $257,000 USD, determined by work location, skills, experience, and qualifications. Eligible roles receive equity-based compensation subject to board approval. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, generous paid time off, and a commuter stipend.
