Role Overview

OpenRouter seeks a Security Solution Engineer to handle enterprise security reviews from start to finish. This technical position bridges sales and security, requiring direct communication with CISOs and enterprise buyers to explain product architecture and security practices.

Key Responsibilities

Manage customer security questionnaires in SafeBase by automating repetitive tasks, curating the response library, and writing custom answers.
Produce technically deep and polished replies addressing complex security and architectural inquiries from enterprise purchasers.
Participate in live meetings with CISOs, technical reviewers, and enterprise security teams as a credible authority on security.
Develop pre-sales security materials such as architecture documentation, whitepapers, one-pagers, and presentation decks.
Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to gain deep product knowledge beyond existing documentation.
Coordinate with Legal regarding security obligations and commitments within enterprise contracts.
Consult with internal IT and Security teams to understand control environments, GRC programs, and policies for accurate customer representation.

Requirements

Possess deep technical knowledge covering cloud, infrastructure, and application security alongside the capability to evaluate architecture diagrams.
Demonstrate strong written communication skills to deliver clear, precise, and technically accurate responses to client security teams.
Exhibit familiarity with enterprise security reviews, including trust centers, questionnaires, architecture deep dives, and their function in sales cycles.
Maintain the composure to address security inquiries independently, recognize when more information is necessary, and provide reliable follow-up.
Understand enterprise sales cycles while responding with urgency and accurately representing organizational security posture.
Show comfort operating within a fast-paced startup setting by navigating ambiguity and taking independent ownership of outcomes.

Nice to Have

Bring hands-on experience utilizing SafeBase or comparable questionnaire automation platforms and trust centers.
Hold a background in pre-sales security engineering, solutions engineering, or GRC within a high-growth SaaS or infrastructure company.
Possess working knowledge concerning LLM and AI infrastructure security considerations, including inference boundaries, subprocessors, model providers, and data handling.
Demonstrate experience reviewing or negotiating security terms found in enterprise agreements.
