Role Overview

The SDE III - Data Engineering owns large-scale data platforms and capabilities at Glance. Working alongside applied scientists, machine learning engineers, product managers, analytics teams, and platform engineers, this role builds reliable data pipelines, feature stores, identity systems, catalog infrastructure, and self-service capabilities. The position requires independently driving complex technical initiatives from design through production while upholding high standards of quality, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build scalable batch and real-time data pipelines utilizing Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Airflow.
Develop user identity resolution systems and cross-surface signal aggregation across mobile, TV, OEM, and commerce ecosystems.
Build ingestion and enrichment pipelines for affiliate feeds, merchant catalogs, direct-to-consumer integrations, and product metadata.
Create reusable feature generation frameworks and low-latency feature pipelines serving training and online inference workloads.
Develop internal AI-powered tools, agents, and self-service platforms to support pipeline debugging, data quality triage, and SQL optimization.
Own production services and pipelines with robust SLAs, embedding observability through monitoring, lineage, alerting, and quality checks.
Drive architecture discussions, champion engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Possess 6 to 10 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Distributed Systems, or Data Platform development.
Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, Airflow, batch processing, and streaming architectures.
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and large-scale schema design.
Proven experience with data validation frameworks, lineage systems, monitoring, reconciliation pipelines, and CI/CD for data systems.
Experience with cloud and platform engineering on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Databricks, BigQuery, Infrastructure as Code, and performance tuning.
Strong programming skills in Python, alongside proficiency in Scala or Java and advanced SQL.

Nice to Have

Experience working with product catalogs, affiliate commerce platforms, merchant feeds, and search systems.
Background in identity resolution, audience platforms, Customer 360 systems, and user profiling.
Experience building feature stores, training data pipelines, and MLOps infrastructure.
Exposure to LLM-powered developer tools, agents, copilots, and metadata intelligence systems.
