Role Overview

OpenAI seeks a Product Manager for its Financial Services team in San Francisco. Reporting to the General Manager of Financial Services, this hands-on position requires defining product strategy, creating early prototypes, and collaborating with engineering, design, and research teams to deliver solutions for finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Own product strategy and priorities by setting roadmaps and deciding what features to build or defer in collaboration with the General Manager.
Observe customer workflows directly to understand document usage, trusted data, and standards applied in daily financial operations.
Build working prototypes, demos, and product requirements using internal tools and partner with engineering and design to ship reliable products.
Partner with research and engineering to establish quality metrics covering accuracy, source traceability, completeness, and ease of review.
Address integration, data-access, privacy, security, and review requirements across legal, security, and partnership teams.
Define success through task completion, output acceptance, repeat usage, time saved, and business impact while supporting go-to-market efforts.

Requirements

Track record of taking complex products from discovery through launch and sustained adoption as a product manager, founder, or builder.
Strong understanding of financial work gained through building products for financial institutions or working in fields like investment banking or investing.
Ability to combine product taste with attention to detail to simplify complex workflows.
Comfort working with engineers and researchers regarding model behavior, data quality, integrations, and evaluations.
Experience using artificial intelligence deeply in personal work and building prototypes to test ideas.
Ability to choose goals and metrics, test assumptions, and manage privacy, trust, and accuracy considerations.
