Role Overview

MaintainX is looking for a Product Design Manager to lead a team of product designers focused on making complex, high-stakes workflows simple and AI-powered. In this role, the manager will set creative direction across web and mobile product areas, grow talent at various career stages, and partner closely with Product and Engineering. The position requires close collaboration with the work and the people, ensuring design shapes meaningful outcomes rather than just shipping screens.

Key Responsibilities

Own design quality across the team's product areas for both web and mobile platforms.
Lead, hire, and grow a team of four to six product designers by conducting regular one-on-ones and delivering clear feedback.
Translate broader product strategy into focused design execution and set clear visions rooted in customer understanding.
Partner directly with Product Managers and Engineering leads to align on priorities and unblock delivery.
Raise the overall craft bar by contributing to design critiques and investing in the design system.
Guide the team in adopting AI tools and practices to accelerate design work and enhance output quality and speed.

Requirements

Six or more years of product design experience working in B2B SaaS or enterprise platforms.
One to three years of experience managing product designers, navigating performance conversations, and helping people grow.
Strong product thinking and craft judgment to connect design work directly to strategy.
Ability to build trust through consistent, direct, and accountable leadership.
Interest in AI-powered product experiences and AI-first workflows.
Expert level of spoken and written English to lead cross-team collaboration and present priorities to stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Experience designing frontline, mobile-first, or offline-capable products.
Background in industrial, operations, or maintenance-adjacent domains.
Experience contributing to or scaling a design system.
Familiarity with designing for AI-powered workflows and data-rich interfaces.

Salary and Benefits

Base pay for this position ranges from $160,000 to $236,000 USD per year. Depending on the role, compensation may include commission, an annual bonus, and equity. United States-based benefits are available through Autodesk, while international plans vary by country and are detailed by recruiters.
