Operating as a Principal Customer Engineer in Paris, this role drives the technical go-to-market strategy by serving as a trusted advisor and architect for enterprise clients. The person in this position guides major clients from pre-sales technical validation through onboarding, deployment architecture, and full lifecycle expansion while carrying a variable quota.

What you will do
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical deep-dive discovery and map complex customer infrastructure to fit-for-purpose Cloudflare architectures.
- Define success criteria and technical evaluation plans for Proof of Concepts and technical validations during the sales cycle.
- Provide oversight to technical onboarding and implementation while serving as the primary executive and engineering contact for the customer.
- Carry a variable quota tied directly to new business acquisition and ongoing account growth.
- Lead technical Quarterly Business Reviews to translate platform capabilities into return on investment for C-level executives.
- Leverage AI agents and Large Language Models to automate routine tasks such as RFP responses and sandbox provisioning.
What you need
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
- Demonstrated ability to white-board, design, and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures clearly.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate deeply technical concepts into business outcomes for both hands-on engineers and C-level executives.
- Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment.
