Role Overview

The Member of Technical Staff, VistA Integrations will play a crucial part in supporting company expansion during a hyper-growth phase. This remote position involves designing, building, and scaling real-time and batch data integrations alongside implementation specialists, support personnel, product managers, and fellow engineers. The role focuses on delivering robust healthcare solutions that maintain high standards of security, privacy, and quality while collaborating directly with external health system partners and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Build robust healthcare integrations leveraging technology standards like REST-like APIs, FHIR, and other third-party APIs without compromising security, privacy, or quality.
Scale business operations by designing, building, and supporting integrations and underlying infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with health system customers to deploy, troubleshoot, and support integrations while engaging with external partners and stakeholders.
Enhance existing systems to add new functionality and improve performance, stability, quality, and security.
Advocate for high standards, add documentation, share knowledge, limit technical debt, and make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase.
Maintain user empathy, build a user-centric mindset, and communicate effectively within cross-functional product delivery teams.

Requirements

5+ years of experience launching business-critical integrations with large enterprises.
2+ years of VistA Integration experience.
Experience with mPage Workflow components, Dynamic Documentation, and CCL.
Experience working with REST-like APIs (FHIR), OAuth2.0, and mTLS.
Excitement about working on the company tech stack, including NodeJS, TypeScript, and Google Cloud Platform.
Passion for working in healthcare integrations with the ability to act with autonomy, self-direction, and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
Comfort working across domains and languages with strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to Have

2+ years of experience working with healthcare data integrations.
Experience delivering integrations with electronic health records such as Oracle Health, VistA, and others.
Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, and X12.
