Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this position focuses on building the operational foundation for the legal department.

Role Overview

Firecrawl seeks a Legal Operations Manager to serve as the operational engine for the company's growing legal function. This build-from-scratch role involves setting up the systems, processes, and vendor relationships needed to support a lean legal team amid rapid company growth. The position works closely with commercial contracting, compliance, legal technology, product, and regulatory matters by establishing the infrastructure that allows legal professionals to operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain contract management, legal operations, and compliance systems.
Own the legal technology stack including contract lifecycle management, e-billing, and matter management tools.
Establish contract intake and routing workflows from initial request to signature.
Handle creative and novel tasks requiring end-to-end ownership without needing a law degree.
Support the legal team with research, regulatory monitoring, and special projects.
Coordinate with finance, sales, product, engineering, human resources, and security teams to maintain smooth legal workflows.
Manage outside counsel and vendor relationships, including budgets, billing, and engagement terms.
Identify repetitive tasks and standardize, automate, or eliminate them using technology and artificial intelligence.
Track and report on legal spend, contract volume, and turnaround times.
Assume expanding ownership aligned with personal strengths and professional goals.

Requirements

Process large volumes of artificial intelligence output using strong personal judgment rather than shipping unverified content.
Drive independent projects to completion without constant oversight or predefined plans.
Demonstrate experience building or meaningfully improving processes from scratch.
Transform vague requests and undefined scope into structured working workflows.
Maintain exceptional organization and independently close loops on open items.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally across sales, finance, and leadership teams.
Exercise good judgment and strict discretion regarding confidential information.
Master new tools rapidly without letting unfamiliar systems slow down progress.
Show intellectual curiosity regarding legal, business, and technology decision-making.
Act as an artificial intelligence super user who uses AI tools by default to accelerate work.
Authorized to work in the United States.
