Role Overview

Cohere is seeking a remote Lead Data Scientist in the United States to join the Engineering and Infra department on a full-time basis. This position is ideal for an experienced analytics and data science professional who wants to shape go-to-market strategies and foundational AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and lead experimentation programs including A/B tests, multi-armed bandits, and causal inference studies that inform product and go-to-market decisions.
Develop and deploy predictive models for forecasting, segmentation, propensity scoring, and opportunity sizing across core business lines.
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of analysts and data scientists while setting a high technical bar.
Define analytical priorities, allocate resources, and oversee initiatives from initial question to production.
Collaborate across product, research, sales, and finance teams to influence company growth and business strategy.

Requirements

Strong command of SQL, Python, and Git.
Deep expertise in statistical inference, experimental design, and predictive modeling.
Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous analytical problems with compelling recommendations.
Prior experience leading analytics or data science teams.
Genuine enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, staying current on research, and operating comfortably in ambiguity.
Leadership style grounded in empathy and data.

Nice to Have

Salary and Benefits

Annual salary range between $190,000 and $325,000 USD.
Weekly lunch stipend of $75 or local currency equivalent.
