About this role

Rogo is seeking a Founding iOS Engineer to lead the creation and development of its native mobile application in New York City. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced developer with a background in mobile engineering who wants to build AI-powered tools for global financial professionals.

Role Overview

As the Founding iOS Engineer, you will shape the mobile experience for Rogo from the ground up by establishing development standards and launching user-facing features. Working on-site in New York City, you will take charge of core product features end-to-end, designing intuitive user experiences and writing high-performance code. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer teams to build mobile workflows that are utilized daily by top investment banking and private equity professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, build, and maintain the native iOS application utilizing Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
Establish and refine mobile development processes covering planning, testing, releasing, and monitoring.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and domain experts.
Own major product features completely from initial concept through to final launch.
Work alongside users and the Customer Success team to iterate quickly and ship continuous improvements.
Contribute broadly to the overall architecture and strategic direction of mobile and frontend platforms.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional iOS development experience.
Strong command of Swift, SwiftUI for iOS 16 and above, and UIKit.
Demonstrated experience building polished, high-performance applications with a strong focus on exceptional user experience.
Comfort working across complex concurrency, threading, and performance optimizations.
Enthusiasm for crafting elegant interfaces alongside reusable and testable components.
Self-starting mindset suited for fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
Genuine passion for building delightful AI-driven user experiences.

Nice to Have

Experience integrating with backend services such as REST APIs, gRPC, and Server-Sent-Events.
Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS or Azure.
Experience deploying applications in enterprise contexts like Microsoft Intune or enterprise App Stores.
Previous professional experience at a fast-growing startup.
Background working at a design-forward product company such as Notion or Figma.
Strong personal interest in artificial intelligence and its application to modern mobile workflows.
