Role Overview

Scale AI is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the Applications Platform Engineering team in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY. This position focuses on building and scaling core infrastructure for the Scale Generative AI Platform (SGP) in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

Design multi-cloud systems and abstractions enabling the SGP platform to operate across existing cloud infrastructure providers.
Build custom integrations connecting the Scale AI platform with customer data environments, including internal APIs, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
Partner directly with customers, platform teams, and product teams to create innovative infrastructure that scales with evolving needs.
Run high-velocity experiments maintaining high quality standards to engage clients.
Manage the complete product lifecycle, moving initiatives smoothly from initial concept to production.
Adapt quickly, multi-task, and rapidly master new technologies.

Requirements

Possess four or more years of full-time engineering experience obtained post-graduation.
Background in scaling products within fast-growing startup environments.
Familiarity with productizing or experimenting with Large Language Models, vector databases, and modern AI tools.
Working knowledge of SQL alongside proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Practical experience utilizing Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience working with leading cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Strong communication abilities to articulate complex technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary range of $179,400 to $224,250 USD for eligible candidates based in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.
