About this role

Leading the design and delivery of enterprise AI solutions, this role centers on guiding customer engagements from problem definition to production deployment in the healthcare and life sciences sector with a focus on laboratory operations. Daily activities involve collaborating directly with client laboratory, technology, and executive teams while directing cross-functional resources including data scientists and forward deployed engineers. The team builds domain-specific generative AI and SaaS applications that enable digital transformation for organizations globally using the C3 AI platform.

The position exists to bridge deep laboratory and operational domain expertise with technical execution, translating complex workflows into structured AI and optimization problems. A successful candidate brings hands-on experience in high-volume diagnostic or laboratory environments, managing metrics like turnaround time, specimen flow, and capacity while demonstrating strong technical judgment and leadership.

What you will do

  • Own the overall solution strategy, technical direction, and delivery outcomes for assigned customer engagements from initial problem definition through production deployment and scale.
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing solution leader and domain expert to understand customer planning processes, operational workflows, constraints, and business objectives.
  • Translate complex operational challenges into tractable AI, machine learning, optimization, and software problems with clearly defined decision variables and success criteria.
  • Lead engagements through use case definition, requirements gathering, solution architecture, application configuration, validation, production deployment, and user adoption.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of Forward Deployed Engineers, data scientists, product managers, and engineers while establishing technical priorities.
  • Work directly with customer planners, technology leaders, and executives to validate requirements, workflows, recommendations, and business impact.
  • Partner with product management and engineering teams to identify reusable capabilities and inform product development.

What you need

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Bring 7+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, planning, logistics, procurement, pricing, operations research, or technically focused consulting.
  • Possess hands-on experience in high-volume diagnostic or laboratory operations, with direct exposure to specimen intake, routing, analyzers, and lab logistics.
  • Demonstrate experience owning turnaround time, capacity, quality or rework, staffing, or specimen flow.
  • Show strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, including reasoning about tradeoffs, constraints, uncertainty, and optimization objectives.
  • Demonstrate experience leading complex, customer-facing technical engagements and working directly with operational, technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Have the ability to travel to customer locations as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience delivering AI, machine learning, operations research, mathematical optimization, advanced analytics, or supply chain digital transformation solutions
