Role Overview

Apify operates the largest marketplace of AI tools, where a global creator community builds Actors that help people and agents gather real-time web data, generate leads, and integrate applications. As part of the Discovery team, the Fullstack Engineer focuses on the Apify Store, handling search functionalities, recommendations, categorization, and presentation. This position covers end-to-end responsibilities across the technology stack, ensuring users and AI agents easily find the exact tool they need.

Key Responsibilities

Build and enhance Store search features, optimizing relevance, ranking, and query understanding.
Integrate and experiment with recommender systems tailored to various users, contexts, and use cases.
Develop Store surfaces utilizing React and TypeScript, including search results, listings, and category pages.
Construct backend discovery systems like scoring services, quality-evaluation pipelines, and data processes.
Run A/B experiments to measure discovery changes and utilize data-driven metrics to decide what ships to production.
Collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to improve how users and AI agents locate tools.

Requirements

Three or more years of professional experience building full-time web applications with a history of owning and shipping user-facing features.
Strong capability in developing and debugging modern single-page applications using TypeScript and React alongside Node.js backends.
Comfort owning technical problems end-to-end from the user interface down to underlying services and scoring systems.
An experiment-driven mindset relying on A/B testing and metrics.
Good English communication skills paired with a collaborative working approach.

Nice to Have

Previous experience working with search, ranking, or recommender systems.
Familiarity with AI or LLM-powered features, evaluations, and building for AI agents as end users.
A strong eye for user interface and user experience design.
