Forward Deployed Engineer {Mumbai}
About this role
DevRev is building Computer, an AI teammate platform that unifies enterprise data sources, tools, and workflows to enable human-AI collaboration. The Mumbai team needs a Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate with pre- and post-sales Customer Experience teams by writing custom applications in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python. Responsibilities include building Knowledge Graphs, integrating third-party SaaS platforms through webhooks and APIs, and shaping how generative AI functions within customer environments.
This role exists to bridge technical implementation and direct customer engagement, spending significant time on-site for workshops and deployments. Successful candidates bring extensive software engineering backgrounds, deep integration expertise, and practical knowledge of large language models and retrieval-augmented generation frameworks. The position suits engineers who enjoy client-facing technical problem-solving and rapid prototyping.
What you will do
- Design and launch AI agents, integrations, and automations that connect the platform with customer tech stacks.
- Connect disparate SaaS and non-SaaS platforms through APIs, webhooks, and real-time communication architectures.
- Apply prompt engineering and fine-tune semantic search engines to enhance agent accuracy and user experience.
- Write SQL queries, perform data analysis, and build dashboards to surface insights for customer decision-making.
- Develop rapid proofs-of-concept, conduct live technical demos, and refine solutions based on feedback.
- Maintain communication loops with internal engineering, product, and revenue teams alongside external stakeholders.
- Guide customers through critical technical workflows including code repository integrations and advanced configurations.
What you need
- Bring five or more years of experience in software development, systems integration, or platform engineering.
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, data structures, and algorithms.
- Possess applied knowledge of large language models, prompt engineering, RAG frameworks, and function calling.
- Demonstrate deep experience with large-scale data synchronization and API integration patterns like REST and GraphQL.
- Have hands-on experience deploying on serverless and edge platforms with modern DevOps practices.
- Show a strong track record triaging and unblocking technical and non-technical challenges during projects.
