About this role

Engineers who thrive in autonomous, client-facing environments and enjoy solving complex integration hurdles directly on customer sites will find this role a strong match. Operating out of Tel Aviv within a newly established Enterprise Sales Pod, the successful candidate partners closely with an Enterprise Account Executive to drive technical discovery, architecture, proof-of-concept development, and production deployments across Israel. The position bridges the gap between high-level client strategy and hands-on engineering, focusing on voice, messaging, AI, and wireless workloads running on the Telnyx global network.

Day-to-day responsibilities involve embedding directly with enterprise customers to design and ship production-grade solutions, from custom AI voice assistants and API integrations to robust LLM gateways and real-time streaming architectures. Because there is no separate engineering division behind this team, the person filling this seat operates with high autonomy, making independent technical judgments and guiding projects from the whiteboard all the way to a stable go-live. A strong background in software engineering combined with native or bilingual communication skills in both English and Hebrew is essential for success in this market.

What you will do

  • Embed directly with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges firsthand.
  • Build and deploy custom implementations including AI voice assistants, Telnyx APIs, and WebRTC.
  • Run open-weight large language models in customer environments or deploy self-hosted stacks behind serving engines for sovereign cloud requirements.
  • Deploy and operate LiteLLM as a model gateway with routing, load balancing, retries, fallbacks, and virtual keys.
  • Instrument and govern LLM usage through gateways by tracking costs, caching, logging, observability, and safety guardrails.
  • Wire production observability for metrics, logs, and traces using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Design model routing strategies for real-time voice workloads to balance latency, cost, and quality.
  • Lead proof-of-concept projects, pilots, and production launches from initial discovery to stable go-live.

What you need

  • Hold a computer science degree or possess equivalent practical experience.
  • Bring at least three years of experience building and shipping production software with a history of being on-call and debugging issues.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages including Python, Node.js or TypeScript, and Go.
  • Possess a practical understanding of production failure modes such as rate limits, timeouts, streaming behavior, and token accounting.
  • Feel comfortable deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with proper secrets management and configuration.
  • Have hands-on experience wiring observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Graylog.
  • Show high-concurrency experience working with Kafka, message queues, or event streams at scale.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hebrew.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or LLM-based conversational systems
  • Building evaluation sets for a specific domain
  • Hands-on production experience with an LLM gateway such as LiteLLM, Portkey, or Kong AI Gateway
  • Familiarity with open-weight models and sovereign cloud compliance
