About this role
Enterprises struggle to bridge the gap between complex AI connectivity primitives and reliable, scalable production systems in the local market. Telnyx is addressing this friction by launching a dedicated Enterprise Sales Pod in Bangalore, pairing an Account Executive with a technical partner who owns every implementation detail from discovery to go-live. Operating as a Forward Deployed Engineer, this individual embeds directly with enterprise clients to architect and ship custom workloads including AI voice assistants, messaging pipelines, and sovereign language models.
Working closely alongside a commercial counterpart, the engineer takes complete ownership of the technical journey, building proof-of-concepts and guiding workloads through production deployment. Success in this role requires a self-sufficient builder who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with direct client-facing skills, capable of troubleshooting complex integrations and translating high-level business goals into robust technical architectures without relying on a traditional support layer behind them.
What you will do
- Embed directly with enterprise customers to analyze communications workflows, integration challenges, and artificial intelligence use cases.
- Architect and deploy custom implementations such as AI voice assistants, WebRTC solutions, and telecommunications APIs.
- Operate and configure model gateways like LiteLLM to manage routing, load balancing, fallback rules, and cost tracking.
- Implement production observability stacks including metrics, logs, and traces using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Adapt models to specific regional domains through retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, prompt engineering, and evaluation harnesses.
- Lead technical proof-of-concepts, pilot programs, and production launches from initial whiteboard design to stable go-live.
- Collaborate directly with product and engineering teams to shape the roadmap using valuable field insights gathered in India.
What you need
- Possess a degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Bring at least three years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining production software that real users depend on.
- Demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Node.js or TypeScript, and Go.
- Maintain practical knowledge of containerized service deployment on Kubernetes along with secrets management and configuration.
- Show hands-on experience wiring observability tools and managing production alerts and metrics.
- Understand high-concurrency systems, message queues, event streams, and API design from scratch.
- Communicate effectively in English with the ability to run whiteboard sessions, lead troubleshooting, and present to executive teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or LLM-based conversational systems
- Background in building evaluation sets for specific domains
- Hands-on production experience with an LLM gateway like LiteLLM, Portkey, or Kong AI Gateway
