About this role
Enterprise customers in Poland and the Czech Republic struggle to architect and deploy reliable production systems using complex voice, messaging, AI, and wireless primitives. Telnyx needs a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Warsaw to solve this integration challenge by embedding directly with clients alongside an Enterprise Account Executive, handling technical discovery, architecture, and deployment from whiteboard to go-live.
In this role, the engineer owns the technical delivery of AI and communication solutions, building custom implementations like AI voice assistants, running open-weight or hosted LLMs, and wiring production observability. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient by default, capable of translating vague customer issues into root causes, and comfortable leading high-stakes technical conversations in both English and Polish.
What you will do
- Embed directly with enterprise customers to analyze communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges firsthand.
- Build and deploy custom software implementations including AI voice assistants, WebRTC, and API integrations.
- Operate open-weight LLMs or configure LiteLLM as a model gateway with routing, load balancing, and cost tracking.
- Wire comprehensive production observability using metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting systems.
- Design real-time voice model routing strategies that balance latency, cost, and quality.
- Adapt models to specific regional requirements including Polish and Czech language contexts and EU regulatory frameworks.
- Lead proofs-of-concept, pilots, and production launches while owning end-to-end customer technical outcomes.
What you need
- Possess a Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Bring at least 3 years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining production software.
- Demonstrate proficiency in multiple programming languages including Python, Node.js or TypeScript, and Go.
- Understand production failure modes for models such as rate limits, timeouts, streaming, and concurrency bottlenecks.
- Have hands-on experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes and configuring observability stacks.
- Show expertise in high-concurrency architectures using Kafka, message queues, or event streams.
- Communicate fluently in both English and Polish for technical whiteboarding and executive presentations.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI voice assistants, STT/TTS, or LLM-based conversational systems
- Building eval sets for a specific domain
- Hands-on production experience with an LLM gateway like LiteLLM or Portkey
