HappyRobot is hiring a remote-friendly Forward Deployed Engineer to lead customer onboarding, implementation, and AI platform integration in San Francisco. This role suits a hands-on developer with strong client-facing skills who wants to build autonomous enterprise AI solutions.

Role Overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer bridges technical development and customer success at HappyRobot. This position works directly with global enterprise clients to guide onboarding, implement custom integrations, and maximize the value of the platform. Operating in an environment without rigid hierarchy, team members take full ownership of projects, build functional features, and drive innovation alongside product and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with customers throughout the onboarding process and ongoing usage to integrate AI solutions successfully.
Build new features, MVPs, and scalable applications that directly improve user outcomes.
Design, implement, and refine AI and machine learning applications, including LLM prompting, voice tuning, and transcribers.
Manage APIs and build seamless integrations with various third-party enterprise systems.
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
Continuously iterate on AI solutions by gathering customer feedback and adapting to evolving requirements.
Prioritize and handle multiple technical projects efficiently under tight deadlines.

Requirements

Strong full-stack development experience utilizing React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
Hands-on practical proficiency in Python.
Direct experience building AI and machine learning applications, such as LLM prompting and model tuning.
Proven ability to manage APIs and integrate systems with third-party software.
Excellent communication skills capable of explaining complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects under strict deadlines.
Possess a founder mindset characterized by high independence, extreme ownership, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
