Role Overview

As a Solutions Engineering Specialist at Kong Inc., the individual acts as a trusted advisor, demonstrating the platform's value through tailored solutions and technical excellence. The professional leverages deep expertise in combining DevOps with AIOps and FinOps, sales skills, and system integration to help customers and partners navigate complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical discussions and presentations with enterprise clients to understand their architectural and business needs.
Develop and implement proof-of-concept projects and custom demonstrations showcasing capabilities in system integration, CI/CD environments.
Provide expert guidance on SRE observability strategies to help customers monitor and optimize API infrastructure.
Utilize proficiency in Linux, Docker, and Git to troubleshoot complex technical issues and offer advanced support.
Drive the adoption of automation technology within customer environments for efficient API lifecycle management.
Collaborate closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to supply market feedback and assist product development.
Mentor junior solutions engineers and contribute to the team's technical knowledge base.
Manage multiple concurrent projects while demonstrating strong project management skills and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, technical architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
Solid AIOps experience and/or solid Kafka experience.
Demonstrated expertise in API design and API management principles.
Strong understanding of authentication mechanisms including OAuth, OIDC, and JWT alongside cybersecurity best practices.
Proficiency with Linux operating systems and containerization tools like Docker.
Extensive experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.
Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, SRE observability methodologies, and automation technology scripting.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
