Role Overview

Cloudflare is looking for a Director of Strategic Finance & Investor Relations to act as a primary leader on the investor relations team and a close partner to the chief executive officer, chief financial officer, and senior executives. This hybrid role is available in New York, New York or San Francisco, California, and suits an experienced financial professional with a background in corporate finance, investment banking, or equity research. The position serves as the engine room for communicating the company's financial story to the public markets, translating a major technology platform into a compelling investment narrative.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end quarterly earnings cycle, including press releases, supplemental financial data, executive scripts, Q&A preparation, and investor presentations.
Partner with executive leadership to establish financial guidance and manage consensus expectations, share count forecasting, and sensitivity ranges.
Act as a primary contact for institutional investors and sell-side analysts, building strong professional relationships and managing the post-earnings callback program.
Plan and execute investor events such as sell-side conferences, one-on-ones, on-site visits, and the annual Investor Day alongside co-authoring presentation materials.
Drive cross-functional collaboration across finance, accounting, legal, communications, and product teams to ensure complete accuracy across all external disclosures.
Monitor analyst coverage, peer performance, and market trends to deliver actionable insights to the executive team and board of directors.

Requirements

Ten or more years of professional experience combining investor relations, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, FP&A, or equity investing.
Deep technical knowledge of public-company financial reporting, capital markets, valuation methods, and SaaS or consumption-based revenue models.
Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to build, maintain, and stress-test operating models, dilution forecasts, and guidance sensitivity analyses.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to draft executive-level messaging and translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences.
Sound judgment regarding confidential information, materiality, fair disclosure, and Regulation FD compliance.
Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.

Nice to Have

Sector background in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or artificial intelligence.
Existing professional relationships with top-tier infrastructure and software sell-side analysts and institutional investors.
Master of Business Administration, Chartered Financial Analyst, or Certified Public Accountant designation.

Salary and Benefits

Estimated annual salary ranges vary by location, with Bay Area roles offering between $200,000 and $275,000, and New York City roles offering between $190,000 and $262,000 in base pay.
