Role Overview

As the Developer Experience Team Lead, the individual guides the engineering group responsible for the platforms and workflows driving software delivery at Gong. The position focuses on removing friction from the development lifecycle, allowing numerous engineers to build, test, deploy, and operate software efficiently. The role operates out of the Tel Aviv office using a flexible hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the evolution of the internal developer platform to provide self-service capabilities spanning local development, continuous integration, testing, deployment, and observability.
Manage, mentor, and expand a team of software and platform engineers while championing the adoption of AI-driven developer tools.
Oversee the reliability and scalability of continuous delivery pipelines and refine software workflows.
Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Security, Artificial Intelligence Enablement, and R&D leadership to elevate overall engineering effectiveness.
Eliminate bottlenecks throughout the development lifecycle by creating automated and scalable self-service solutions.
Assess, implement, and scale emerging artificial intelligence capabilities to deliver measurable impact across research and development.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of engineering management experience leading technical teams within Platform Engineering, Developer Experience, or Infrastructure.
Proven track record of balancing strategic team leadership with hands-on technical execution.
Solid software engineering background with expertise in building distributed, cloud-native systems using languages such as Java or Python.
Embraces an AI-first mindset with practical experience integrating AI development tools into engineering routines.
Extensive knowledge of modern software delivery, CI/CD ecosystems, automation, GitOps practices, and observability.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to build cross-functional partnerships and influence technical direction.
