Data Scientist Internship (November, 6 months)
About this role
Shift Technology builds advanced AI agents and a SaaS platform designed to transform insurance operations such as claims, underwriting, fraud detection, and anti-money laundering. The data science team creates machine learning products that process diverse data types, ranging from structured data and free text to documents and images.
This six-month internship starting in November 2026 places the selected student inside a specialized technical group in Paris. Responsibilities include building data processing pipelines, calibrating detection models, and conducting research and development for NLP, chatbots, and image analysis. Candidates suited for this role possess strong object-oriented programming skills, are currently enrolled in a relevant master's degree program, and speak both fluent French and clear English.
What you will do
- Build and deploy data processing pipelines covering batch or real-time ingestion, cleaning, and information extraction.
- Calibrate fraud detection models to ensure accurate performance.
- Conduct research and development to drive product innovation across machine learning, NLP, image analysis, trend analysis, and chatbots.
- Collaborate across the data science product lifecycle by understanding how sales, legal, product, and engineering connect to deliver AI solutions.
What you need
- Currently enrolled as a master's degree student in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Big Data.
- Provide a 6-month internship agreement signed by your school or university and be available to start in November 2026.
- Demonstrate experience in object-oriented programming through prior internships, school work, or personal projects.
- Speak fluent French and communicate clearly in English.
