As part of the Agentic Claims squad, the incoming researcher will design, prototype, and rigorously evaluate specialized AI agents tailored to end-to-end insurance workflows. Responsibilities span from problem formulation and prompt design to production deployment, focusing on Generative AI, LLMs, and multimodal models that reason over evidence and operate safely within business processes.
This role exists to advance the Research team's strategy of building reliable, production-grade systems that support claim handlers and enhance the experience of the insured. Success requires deep technical expertise in modern AI frameworks alongside the ability to collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams for measurable business impact.
What you will do
- Stay at the forefront of Generative AI and Agentic AI, including LLMs, multimodal models, tool-augmented agents, and agentic workflows.
- Design, prototype, and rigorously evaluate specialized AI agents tailored to end-to-end insurance workflows.
- Translate business problems into robust agentic systems, incorporating task decomposition, context and prompt design, tool integration, memory strategies, and advanced evaluation methodologies.
- Take ownership of AI systems from problem formulation and benchmarking to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to internal frameworks, benchmarks, and shared tooling to accelerate experimentation and industrialization of agentic workflows.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure scalability and measurable business impact.
What you need
- Hold a PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Bring 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying AI systems, with strong exposure to Generative AI and LLM-based architectures.
- Demonstrate practical experience with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, tool-augmented agents, and systematic evaluation of AI systems.
- Feel comfortable using coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex in daily work.
- Show proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks like Microsoft Agent Framework, OpenAI Agents SDK, and LangGraph.
- Be autonomous, rigorous, and business fluent in English.
