Software engineers in this group assist customers with adopting Codex and related tools across the entire development lifecycle, transforming how teams plan, build, test, review, and deliver code. Success in this position is measured by actual production systems and sustained developer adoption rather than simple demonstrations.
Professionals in this role partner directly with leading engineering organizations to design, build, and deploy AI-driven software workflows. Daily responsibilities include combining technical judgment with hands-on coding to take ambitious ideas from initial prototyping through evaluation, production rollout, and scaled adoption. Candidates who excel here possess a strong background in software engineering, applied AI, or technical consulting, alongside fluency in both Japanese and English.
What you will do
- Partner directly with engineering leaders and developers to identify high-value opportunities for Codex and translate them into technical architectures and implementation plans.
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered software development workflows that improve how teams plan, write, test, review, debug, and deliver software.
- Work hands-on in code to build prototypes, evaluation harnesses, reference implementations, and production accelerators.
- Help customers progress from promising experiments to reliable production workflows, sustained developer adoption, and scaled impact.
- Design systematic approaches for evaluating AI coding systems using representative software engineering tasks and automated graders.
- Gather high-fidelity insights from real-world deployments and translate them into clear product proposals and technical requirements for internal teams.
What you need
- Demonstrated track record of designing, building, and delivering software or AI systems in enterprise environments from prototype to production.
- Substantial personal contributions in code, architecture, evaluation, debugging, integrations, or production engineering.
- High proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern software development environments, with experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, or another relevant language considered valuable.
- Active use of AI coding tools with a strong perspective on improving developer productivity and software engineering workflows.
- Experience navigating enterprise production requirements such as developer tooling integrations, reliability, observability, security, privacy, and data governance.
- Ability to communicate with clarity and credibility across hands-on engineers, engineering leaders, and executives.
- Fluent speaking abilities in both Japanese and English.
