About this role

Cognition is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for a full-time position based in Singapore to operationalize AI modernization for enterprise customers. This role is well-suited for a software professional with strong coding skills and a passion for driving customer product adoption and AI agent integration.

Role Overview

Applied AI Engineers serve as the primary drivers for operationalizing AI modernization at the enterprise level by deploying Devin, the first AI software engineer, into customer environments. Team members embed directly with client engineering teams to integrate agentic workflows, generate measurable productivity gains, and build repeatable deployment playbooks that scale globally.

Key Responsibilities

Embed with enterprise engineering teams to manage end-to-end adoption outcomes for Devin.
Architect and implement agentic workflows across product, data, quality assurance, support, and engineering departments.
Lead interactive client programs, including live workshops and collaborative pair programming sessions.
Guide customers through the installation, configuration, and optimization of Devin and associated tools like DeepWiki and MCP integrations.
Pair-program on live production problems to showcase high-value usage patterns and boost applied AI fluency.
Quantify impact by tracking productivity metrics, uncovering return on investment stories, and building business cases for account expansion.
Collaborate with leadership to transform field experiences into structured playbooks and best practices.
Develop shared playbooks and enablement materials based on direct customer feedback and learnings.

Requirements

Hold a degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
Bring three or more years of professional background as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward deployed engineer, or solutions engineer.
Demonstrate strong coding proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Exhibit a proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
Show a track record of driving technical adoption and measurable impact within engineering organizations.
Possess strong commercial instincts to help grow accounts through successful engagements.
Display excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside a capacity to learn and adapt exceptionally fast.

Nice to Have

Prior experience leading developer enablement, platform adoption, or internal AI modernization initiatives with measurable before-and-after metrics.
Practical background deploying or integrating large language models or agent-based systems in production settings.
Previous experience as a founder or early team member at an early-stage startup requiring high autonomy and fast execution speed.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for compounding engineering velocity through deliberate interventions.
