Role Overview

As an Applied AI Engineer at Cognition, the focus is on deploying Devin rather than just demonstrating it. Professionals in this position embed directly with enterprise engineering teams to integrate agentic workflows into daily development and shipping processes. Responsibilities include shaping the function itself by turning individual customer engagements into repeatable playbooks, digital learning content, and partner-driven enablement models that scale adoption to engineers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Embed with enterprise engineering teams to drive deep adoption of Devin and own outcomes from onboarding onward.
Architect and implement agentic workflows across engineering, QA, support, data, and product to identify and leverage high-value AI use cases.
Lead interactive programs, live workshops, and pair programming sessions for enterprise engineering groups.
Guide clients through installing, configuring, and optimizing Devin alongside tools like DeepWiki and MCP integrations.
Pair-program on live production problems to demonstrate high-value usage patterns and accelerate applied AI fluency.
Quantify impact by tracking productivity metrics, surfacing ROI stories, and making the business case for expanding Devin's footprint.
Collaborate with leadership to scale field learnings into structured playbooks, best practices, and enablement materials.

Requirements

A degree in a STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience.
3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, technical consultant, deployment strategist, forward deployed engineer, or solutions engineer.
Strong coding proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated track record of driving technical adoption and measurable impact inside engineering organizations.
Strong commercial instincts with an understanding of how successful engagements grow accounts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to learn and adapt exceptionally fast.

Nice to Have

Prior leadership experience in developer enablement, platform adoption, or internal AI modernization initiatives with documented before and after metrics.
Experience deploying or integrating LLM or agent-based systems in production environments.
Background as a founder or early-stage startup employee where autonomy and execution speed were critical.
Energized by compounding a team's velocity through deliberate engineering outcomes.
