The ChatGPT Library team at OpenAI solves this challenge by building features that allow millions of people to save, structure, and build upon the content they create.
Joining this group involves owning high-impact product experiences across the entire Android stack, from early technical design through experimentation and launch. Engineers collaborate closely with product, design, research, and data science peers to translate emerging AI capabilities into native, reliable mobile applications. Strong judgment, a track record of scaling Android products, and comfort with navigating ambiguity fit well within this fast-moving environment.
What you will do
- Build and ship new Android features that help users access, organize, and build upon content created with ChatGPT.
- Own product experiences end to end, handling technical design, implementation, experimentation, launch, and iteration.
- Develop scalable foundations that allow library features to evolve quickly alongside emerging AI capabilities.
- Improve the architecture, performance, reliability, and responsiveness of content-rich mobile experiences.
- Integrate Android platform capabilities thoughtfully to deliver intuitive and deeply native interactions.
- Partner with product, design, research, data science, and engineering teams to turn AI research into polished products.
- Help establish technical direction and raise the quality bar for Android development across the team.
What you need
- Demonstrated experience building and shipping high-quality Android products used at scale.
- Deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, the Android SDK, and modern Android architecture.
- Commitment to product quality covering performance, reliability, accessibility, and visual polish.
- Ability to own complex product experiences across the full Android stack.
- Strong product instincts for translating ambiguous ideas into simple user experiences.
- Skill in designing scalable systems that enable other engineers to move quickly.
