About this role

This remote AI Platform Engineer, Enablement and Governance Operations position at Kraken provides a vital opportunity to scale internal artificial intelligence tooling safely across the organization. The role suits an experienced engineer who excels at bridging technical capability and operational governance in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

Kraken is seeking a remote AI Platform Engineer, Enablement and Governance Operations based in Poland to join the Enterprise Transformation team. The organization has spent 15 years building modern financial infrastructure and now operates an internal AI platform deployed at scale. This position focuses on designing technical layers, managing integration gateways, closing capability gaps, and ensuring safe usage of emerging AI models and protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Design and construct the technical layer of the AI platform, ranging from integration surfaces to production runbooks, by building internally or evaluating vendors.
Own the governed integration gateway as an engineering surface, handling connector onboarding, authentication flows, reliability, and vendor escalations.
Develop internal tooling to extend the platform, including agent scaffolding, evaluation harnesses, provisioning automation, and system integrations.
Configure and operate tiered spend controls, set role-based caps, manage exception queues, and run monthly reconciliations against vendor commitments.
Implement technical controls for data handling, retention policies, and model eligibility utilizing identity integration, SSO, SCIM, and role-based entitlements.
Collaborate directly with company teams to understand workflows and build configurations that unlock real productivity leverage.
Execute technical enablement through deep dives, office hours, and knowledge base documentation.
Administer the enterprise AI estate end to end, managing model turn-ups, feature enablement, deprecations, and seat true-ups.

Requirements

Enterprise SaaS administration experience at 1,000+ seats, ideally involving an AI or LLM platform.
Proven ability to build and ship working software using Python or a comparable language, alongside version control, CI, containers, and secrets management.
Practical experience integrating LLM and SaaS APIs with familiarity in agent and tool use patterns like MCP.
Working knowledge of identity and access management tools such as Okta, OAuth, SCIM, SSO, and federated machine identity.
Strong operational discipline covering intake queues, SLAs, runbooks, escalation hygiene, and thorough documentation habits.
Demonstrated teaching ability to clearly explain technical capabilities to diverse audiences like compliance, traders, and backend engineers.
Clear written communication skills for producing technical documentation, runbooks, and policy pages.
Strong professional judgment regarding organizational capability needs versus temporary demonstration tools.

Nice to Have

Experience establishing internal developer or AI platforms, covering self-service and guardrail layers.
Exposure to FinOps or software asset management practices.
Experience working with low-code or workflow automation platforms.
Atlassian administration depth encompassing Jira, Confluence, or JSM.
