About this role
Harvey faces a critical talent bottleneck because the engineers who build global infrastructure, model serving systems, and databases are among the hardest people in the technology industry to hire. To solve this problem, the company needs a dedicated recruiting partner to build out the Infrastructure and Platform organization, covering core infrastructure, model infrastructure, database infrastructure, and backend platforms.
In this full-cycle role, the recruiter will own the hiring process from market mapping and sourcing to closing. Working closely with engineering leaders, the recruiter will translate roadmap priorities into actionable hiring plans, target passive senior and staff-level engineers, and advise managers on market compensation and level calibration.
What you will do
- Partner with infrastructure and platform leaders to turn roadmap priorities into a clear hiring plan.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines across distributed systems, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, databases, SRE, and security.
- Map talent at hyperscalers, AI labs, and high-growth infrastructure companies to run targeted outreach for senior and staff-plus engineers.
- Advise hiring managers on compensation, competing offers, level calibration, and candidate preferences.
- Manage a high-signal, candidate-first technical interview process while keeping interviewers calibrated and moving quickly.
- Close competitive candidates by clearly explaining Harvey's infrastructure problems, scope, and technical impact.
- Maintain clean data in Ashby and use pipeline metrics to diagnose bottlenecks and adjust strategies.
- Improve hiring operations by refining interview plans, sourcing playbooks, referral programs, and events.
What you need
- Five to eight years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including meaningful time hiring infrastructure, platform, SRE, or platform engineers.
- Previous experience working in a high-growth startup or scale-up where both speed and quality were paramount.
- A proven track record of successfully hiring senior and staff-level engineers through self-sourced passive channels.
- Sufficient technical fluency to hold credible conversations about infrastructure work and distinguish between different engineering specializations.
- Strong partnership skills with hiring managers who view recruiting as a collaborative alliance rather than an order-taking function.
- Comfort using recruitment metrics and data to diagnose problems and influence hiring decisions.
- Deep familiarity with the infrastructure and AI talent market, including company trajectories and engineer career movements.
- Demonstrated low ego and high ownership with a willingness to roll up sleeves to build the team.
