Role Overview

Vast.ai is seeking a full-time Technical Product Manager, Infrastructure to lead the backend systems of its GPU cloud marketplace from the Los Angeles office. This on-site role suits a deeply technical professional with a background in engineering and product management who wants to shape the compute layer for the AI era.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the infrastructure, security, and reliability roadmap by prioritizing initiatives, creating engineering specifications, and overseeing delivery.
Own core operational metrics including platform uptime, fleet reliability, and cost-to-serve.
Scale core systems to maintain speed and performance as the marketplace grows, managing database performance and end-to-end latency.
Harden the platform against security threats, abuse, and fraud while building compliance frameworks for enterprise clients.
Develop observability and infrastructure tooling to provide engineers and hosts with clear insights into platform health and fleet status.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a backend engineer combined with 3 years of experience in product management.
Practical background in areas such as security, distributed systems, scalability, reliability at scale, infrastructure tooling, observability, compliance, or abuse prevention.
Professional background in software infrastructure, cloud computing, developer tooling, AI and machine learning, GPUs, or two-sided marketplaces.
Proven work history within a rapid-growth team or fast-paced startup environment.
