About this role
Modal needs to scale its talent pipeline to support rapid growth, requiring a dedicated professional to establish foundational recruiting and candidate programs. Operating within the Talent team, the new Talent Programs Manager will design and execute initiatives including tech talks, university outreach, and the company internship program from scratch. Because the infrastructure layer for AI is expanding quickly, this person will ensure the organization attracts top technical talent through structured events and strategic partnerships.
Ownership of the end-to-end event strategy, intern lifecycle, and campus presence defines the core of the work. Collaboration with recruiters, engineering leaders, and marketing teams ensures that every program produces measurable hiring outcomes and strong candidate experiences. An individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment without a pre-existing playbook will succeed here, bringing strong project management skills and a low-ego approach to building out scalable people operations.

- Represent Modal at career fairs and campus events while recruiting and preparing employee brand ambassadors.

- Manage program budgets and vendor relationships for venues, swag, catering, and event platforms.
- Track and report on key program metrics such as event pipeline conversion, intern conversion rates, and cost per hire.
What you need
- Bring 3+ years of experience running recruiting or talent programs, events, or university relations with a track record of end-to-end ownership.
- Demonstrate high influence and low ego by building cross-functional relationships easily across recruiting, hiring managers, and marketing.
- Possess strong project management skills to juggle multiple concurrent events and timelines without dropping details.
