About this role

Leading technical discovery and solution design for federal prospects and defense and civilian customers forms the core of daily operations in this role. Working closely with legal, IT, security, acquisition, and program stakeholders, the first Solutions Architect dedicated to the public sector will design secure deployments inside government environments and author the foundational playbook for the team.

Harvey brings its artificial intelligence platform to U.S. federal agencies to help legal and professional services operate securely. This position bridges internal product, engineering, and customer success teams with external government stakeholders navigating compliance frameworks like FedRAMP High. Professionals who thrive in ambiguous environments, enjoy building new operational frameworks from scratch, and possess deep technical fluency in SaaS security architecture will excel here.

What you will do

  • Lead technical discovery and solution design for federal prospects and customers across defense and civilian agencies.
  • Design, document, and defend secure architectures for Harvey in government environments including FedRAMP High and data-handling requirements.
  • Own the technical thread on a focused portfolio of high-impact federal accounts from first conversation through rollout and expansion.
  • Partner with Security and Trust on agency security reviews such as ATO boundaries and NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Collaborate with Legal Engineers and Customer Success Managers to turn agency workflows into concrete solutions and reusable implementation patterns.
  • Synthesize field feedback to inform the product roadmap, evaluation criteria, and government-specific documentation.
  • Represent the technical perspective in customer workshops, working groups, and stakeholder briefings.

What you need

  • Minimum of 7 years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Direct experience selling to or supporting U.S. federal customers at a SaaS or cloud provider including navigating procurement.
  • Working knowledge of federal compliance frameworks like FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, DoD Impact Levels, and ATO processes.
  • Hands-on depth in SaaS security and identity architecture including SSO, SAML, SCIM, encryption, and data residency.
  • Clear communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences ranging from program managers to CISOs.
  • Hands-on engagement with modern AI systems like LLMs and prompt design.
