As a senior technical owner, this individual will establish the structural foundation for the new native codebase while staying deeply involved in writing and reviewing code. Responsibilities include defining module boundaries, optimizing build performance, guiding developer experience, and shaping the synchronization strategy between the legacy and new applications during the transition. The position demands a balance of deep mobile expertise, strategic execution, and familiarity with generative AI development workflows to steer the migration successfully.
What you will do
- Own the overall architecture of core native application surfaces in Swift and Kotlin to support product teams onboarding to native.
- Establish enforceable module boundaries, visibility rules, and compile-time checks to ensure a scalable and high-quality codebase.
- Remain hands-on across the team codebase by actively writing and reviewing code at depth.
- Lead agentic code translation workflows by implementing automated systems for recurring migration tasks.
- Own and improve the developer experience for the native codebase through faster builds, reliable CI/CD pipelines, and clear documentation.
- Design the dual-app synchronization strategy and manage the balance between daily agent automations and human review processes.
- Mentor engineers across mobile teams and establish engineering best practices throughout the broader mobile community.
What you need
- Bring 8 or more years of professional mobile software engineering experience focusing on iOS or Android using Swift or Kotlin.
- Possess working proficiency in the alternate platform along with a willingness to build cross-platform fluency.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of shipping scalable mobile applications with direct ownership of architecture and release quality.
- Show deep understanding of mobile performance optimization including cold start times, frame stability, and scroll jank across varied device tiers.
- Demonstrate the ability to translate organizational strategy into technical execution and secure alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Bring practical experience with AI-assisted code generation or LLM-driven development workflows.
- Have documented success in improving developer experience through build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and release tooling.
