The Staff Software Engineer, Continuity position at Rad AI is an onsite engineering opportunity based in San Francisco, perfect for experienced developers looking to transform healthcare through artificial intelligence. Key Responsibilities

Build large-scale single page and progressive web applications designed to streamline clinical user workflows and boost productivity.
Design and implement Python and FastAPI backend services, covering REST APIs and machine learning pipeline integrations.
Deliver new product features to support a fast-growing customer base within healthcare environments.
Produce secure, maintainable code that aligns with internal standards for high-scale HIPAA compliance.
Partner alongside Product Management, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Customer Success teams to iterate on functionality and resolve defects.
Drive product quality, security, and performance improvements that benefit the broader team.
Mentor fellow engineers by offering technical direction, conducting code reviews, collaborating on design, and championing strong engineering methods.

Requirements

Bring a minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience working across single and multi-tenanted environments.
Possess thorough knowledge of Python and FastAPI, or equivalent modern programming languages and frameworks.
Understand relational and document-based databases, alongside other large-scale data storage approaches.
Demonstrate familiarity with modern web architecture and established industry best practices.
Have practical experience writing unit and integration tests.
Maintain strong version control abilities using git while collaborating on distributed teams.
Show proven experience handling performance and optimization bottlenecks at scale.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools and workflows to enhance engineering output while preserving strict code quality, security, and reliability standards.

Nice to Have

Background working with PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with third-party integrations such as Amplitude and Auth0.
Previous tenure within an early-stage startup environment.
Exposure to HIPAA-compliant systems, specifically involving HL7 and FHIR standards.
Direct involvement working alongside machine learning projects.
