Coder is hiring a full-time, remote Staff Software Engineer specializing in AI Governance to help shape the future of developer tooling. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in distributed systems and backend development who wants to build enterprise-grade AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and construct product features that advance remote development standards in self-hosted environments.
Create and improve upon popular open-source projects integrating with developer tools like VS Code and JetBrains.
Champion engineering best practices among internal team members and external contributors.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and external partners to execute key product integrations.
Document system designs, implementations, and operational guidelines for team knowledge sharing.
Work alongside Customer Success teams to provide technical support for enterprise users.
Leverage cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies to deliver seamless developer experiences.
Move rapidly from initial prototyping to full implementation within an adaptive, reactive team setting.

Requirements

Bring eight or more years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
Possess at least one year of professional experience writing code in Go, ideally in the most recent role.
Demonstrate proficiency in building distributed systems using Go.
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Display exceptional debugging and troubleshooting abilities paired with the tenacity to resolve complex issues.
Demonstrate self-motivation alongside a creative and analytical mindset.

Nice to Have

Practical experience with TypeScript and React.
A professional background in developer tooling, platform engineering, or Infrastructure as Code.
A strong curiosity regarding emerging technology trends and the developer tools landscape.
