The Staff Software Engineer, Agent Platform position at Replit is a full-time hybrid role based out of the Foster City, California office with remote work options. Key Responsibilities

Build high-throughput backend applications and services, such as streaming chat functionality between users and agents.
Design a collaborative multiplayer computer enabling humans and AI agents to work simultaneously on shared shells, filesystems, and state in real time without conflicts.
Develop frontend and backend infrastructure designed to empower product engineers to ship user experiences rapidly.
Design and construct durable, high-quality interfaces connecting the agent to internal systems and external agentic systems like MCP.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience creating backend services, systems, and platforms.
