Role Overview

The Engineering Manager, Mobile position at Replit involves directing mobile experiences that connect design and engineering. The selected candidate will oversee a team focused on producing reliable mobile interfaces, establishing technical frameworks, and allowing users to build applications directly from mobile devices and tablets.

Key Responsibilities

Build, mentor, and expand a team of mobile design engineers while cultivating technical and design standards.
Create the technical strategy and vision for mobile design systems across iOS, Android, and responsive web platforms.
Coordinate with product, design, and engineering leadership to prioritize projects and streamline cross-functional workflows.
Establish mobile-first development standards to deliver performant and consistent application experiences.
Direct the architecture of complex user interface components through architectural oversight and code reviews.
Support accessible and responsive interfaces while refining the workflow between mobile design and development.
Combine direct technical contributions with personnel management tasks, including mentorship and career growth.

Requirements

Three or more years of engineering management experience involving team scaling and production framework creation.
Technical background in mobile development, including experience with native mobile development, mobile-specific web APIs, React and React Native or related cross-platform frameworks, PWAs, mobile design patterns, and complex UI animations or gesture interactions.
Communication abilities suited for technical leadership, performance management, and team mentorship.

Experience as an active Replit mobile user with a focus on accessible software creation.
