Hinge Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for GI to join the team in San Francisco on a hybrid basis. This role suits an experienced 0-to-1 builder ready to design a comprehensive digital care product from scratch for millions of Americans.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer for GI, you will build a brand new digital care product from scratch, defining an end-to-end experience for millions of Americans. You will partner closely with staff engineers, team leaders, and cross-functional partners in Product, Design, and Marketing across San Francisco, Montreal, and Bangalore. Your daily work will involve hands-on coding, code reviews, and independently shipping impactful improvements to highly visible product surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to defining the new GI product line from scratch and deliver large projects introducing new product capabilities.

Break down complex problems into manageable tasks, ensuring steady delivery and identifying root causes of incidents.

Implement key functionalities delivering high-quality, bug-free, high-performance software on a tight schedule.

Drive high-complexity projects from the roadmap as an engineering leader and implement engineering best practices like CI/CD and automated testing.

Integrate AI technologies to automate processes and enhance product features within an AI-driven care platform.

Mentor and support junior engineers through thoughtful code reviews and real-time pairing.

Launch the new product and work on post-launch iterations driven by real member feedback.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

A minimum of 3 years of non-internship full-time professional software development experience.

4+ years of experience with at least one software programming language.

4+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.

Experience delivering large software projects or features in a production environment.

Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Nice to Have

Experience building in large React Native codebases, TypeScript/Node.js and Go backends, GraphQL, and AWS services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, and SageMaker.

History operating a product surface that integrates across multiple platforms owned by different teams.

Track record of running A/B or multivariate tests on core product surfaces to drive roadmap decisions.

Experience developing consumer-facing apps used by large user bases.

Experience working within healthcare (HIPAA) or other highly regulated domains involving sensitive member data.
