Role Overview

Hinge Health is hiring a Senior Privacy & AI Counsel for the Legal team. The professional works closely with Product, R&D, Hardware, Marketing, and Clinical departments to launch healthcare products and ensure adherence to privacy and artificial intelligence regulations. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Product, the role involves assessing privacy risks, negotiating data safety agreements, and safeguarding customer data.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain privacy and artificial intelligence policies and procedures alongside the Compliance team.

Supervise privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments.

Advise various company departments on privacy and artificial intelligence matters.

Partner with Product and R&D divisions to integrate privacy-by-design concepts into operational choices.

Handle privacy-related questions and complaints while directing incident responses with Security and Compliance departments.

Assist client-facing groups with privacy and artificial intelligence inquiries and reviews.

Coordinate with the security department to guarantee proper data protection safeguards.

Requirements

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Active license to practice law in a minimum of one United States jurisdiction.

Five to seven years of professional background in privacy law and data protection.

Familiarity with United States and international privacy regulations, including HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR.

Understanding of privacy considerations related to machine learning and artificial intelligence, alongside general artificial intelligence governance standards.

Nice to Have

Certified Information Privacy Professional or comparable certification.

Background working in the healthcare sector, preferably within a digital health enterprise, combined with law firm experience at a nationally recognized organization.

Practice utilizing artificial intelligence tools to improve deliverables.

Comfort operating at both strategic and operational levels.
