Role Overview

Hims & Hers is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to serve as a core driver within the data organization in London. The professional will translate complex business challenges into scalable data products and machine learning models, taking full ownership from exploratory analysis to production deployment. This role involves partnering closely with product, engineering, and finance teams to optimize operations, refine marketing, and improve customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities

Build solutions from scratch by writing complex SQL, engineering features, and deploying baseline models quickly.
Own the complete model lifecycle, including data extraction, feature engineering, deployment, A/B testing, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Collaborate across functions with engineering, product, and finance teams to define requirements and translate model outputs into business insights.
Write clean, modular, and production-ready code while participating in peer code reviews and team best practices.
Navigate technical ambiguity and break down project requirements into manageable milestones.
Mentor junior data scientists and analysts to help troubleshoot roadblocks and adopt best practices.

Requirements

Five or more years of applied experience in data science or machine learning engineering with a record of delivering production-ready models.
Strong technical proficiency in Python and SQL, alongside familiarity with the Python data stack and standard machine learning frameworks.
Experience working in cloud-based environments with familiarity in CI/CD workflows, version control, and ML Ops principles.
Strong ability to connect technical metrics to business outcomes and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
A Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as data science, statistics, economics, computer science, or applied math.

Nice to Have

Experience taking the first machine learning models from exploratory notebooks to automated production pipelines.
Background in customer behavior and propensity modeling for churn, lead scoring, or lifetime value.
Experience in applied forecasting, anomaly detection, or handling non-stationary data for planning.
Experience building optimization engines for marketing spend, inventory, or resource allocation.
Background in causal inference and designing robust experiments to measure business impact.
