Key Responsibilities

Investigate how threat actors adopt, weaponize, and exploit artificial intelligence technologies.

Research LLM-powered social engineering, automated vulnerability discovery, and attacks against agentic AI implementations.

Instrument telemetry to detect the adversarial use of artificial intelligence in the wild.

Evaluate emerging risks as artificial intelligence capabilities continue to evolve.

Produce authoritative research that helps Sophos and the wider security community stay ahead of sophisticated cyber threats.

Drive operational efficiencies across the Insights team by integrating researched tools and techniques into standard workflows.

Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Threat Research, CTU researchers, SophosLabs malware analysts, MDR threat hunters, incident responders, engineering teams, and data scientists.

Requirements

Extensive background operating at the intersection of applied artificial intelligence, threat intelligence, and cyber operations.

Demonstrated ability to function as a senior individual contributor within a security organization.

Deep understanding of adversarial tactics involving large language models and emerging artificial intelligence implementations.
