Key Responsibilities

Design and construct large-scale distributed data systems supporting analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence.
Create batch and streaming solutions to guarantee reliable, scalable, and efficient data processing.
Manage, scale, and evolve core platforms including the Snowflake data warehouse, machine learning data lake, orchestration tools, and real-time ingestion systems.
Enhance data consistency, reliability, and compliance to supply high-quality data to business, research, and engineering stakeholders.
Identify and implement cost optimization strategies across storage, compute infrastructure, and data processing.
Partner with data scientists, AI researchers, product engineers, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Set technical standards and drive best practices for data storage, processing, ingestion, and orchestration.
Mentor fellow engineers and champion a collaborative culture centered on learning and technical excellence.

Requirements

Bring five or more years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience focused on designing and constructing distributed data infrastructure at scale.
Demonstrate strong expertise in batch and streaming data processing technologies like Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, or Dagster.
Exhibit a proven track record of impact-driven problem-solving within fast-paced environments, prioritizing performant and reliable systems.
Possess exceptional technical communication skills for collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Show prior experience mentoring engineers and supporting a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with the Figma technology stack, including Python, Golang, SQL, dbt, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Dagster.
Background in developing data infrastructure for AI and machine learning pipelines, encompassing feature stores, model serving, or dataset compliance.
Experience working with reverse ETL, real-time event ingestion systems, or personalization platforms.
Knowledge of data governance, access control protocols, and cost-efficiency optimization for massive data platforms.
Ability to navigate through ambiguity, maintain ownership, and steer projects from their initial inception through final execution.
