Role Overview

Coram AI is seeking a Software Engineer to join the core engineering team on a full-time, onsite basis in London. This position suits a resilient developer with startup or scale-up experience who wants to build scalable video intelligence platforms using advanced AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain backend services that ingest, process, and serve video and sensor data at scale.
Ship AI-native features end to end, including natural-language video search, real-time detections, and agentic workflows built on multimodal LLMs and computer vision.
Implement user-facing frontends in TypeScript and React while collaborating closely with product teams.
Design scalable APIs and systems that interface directly with machine learning pipelines and an edge device fleet.
Collaborate on infrastructure and architecture decisions from the ground up.
Tackle complex technical problems involving distributed systems, real-time processing, and high availability.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar relevant professional experience.
Strong coding experience utilizing Golang, Python, or C++.
Experience with modern frontend stacks such as TypeScript and React, including react-query and Tailwind.
Proven background in designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.
Comfort working with distributed systems, containers, and cloud-native infrastructure like Kubernetes on AWS and Pulumi for IaC.
Fluency with AI-assisted development and strong opinions on where it works well.
Previous startup experience building systems from scratch or scaling experience in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of system performance, reliability, and clean architecture.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work effectively in an onsite environment in London.
